Animation

The ‘animation techniques and digital illustration’ workgroup aims to allow computer graphics students to develop a personal animation and/or illustration project using digital tools and techniques.

A project-based teaching approach is applied: second-year students are under the guidance of teachers specialized in the different digital techniques the students will have to use to create their personal final second-year project (TFA). The other courses are part of the general training shared by the whole computer graphics techniques department. In order to bring out their own knowledge and skills, the students will have to present a portfolio including all personal works on all types of media created within the framework of their training at the Haute Ecole or outside. The objective is to start from the student as a person and to find with them the best ways to carry out their choices starting from their own potential.

The third year follows the same approach.

Thanks to the skills acquired in the second year during which they have had the opportunity to test their strengths and weaknesses in the different computer graphics techniques, the students gather in teams bringing together the different skill profiles necessary to create a more ambitious and professional work (film, animated or still concept,…). They then carry it out under the guidance of the teaching staff and present it in front of a jury composed of teachers as well as of external professionals.

In order to round off the professional integration already initiated by the final project team work, a work placement in a company is organized in the third year. Moreover, so as to enlarge the scale of prospects for students, master classes presented by highly-skilled professional specialists from different fields are held in the second and third years.
