Prepress / DTP
The training in prepress and digital publishing allows students to directly access computer graphics jobs oriented towards paper or related supports.
Three main stages in the creation of communicative media are the basis of the course programme:
- Graphic design initiates the creation of all kinds of works such as logotypes, corporate images, pictograms, signage, leaflets, catalogues, magazines, posters, etc. Courses such as sketching, drawing, visual communication, typography,… take part in that process.
- Layout helps you refine the previously created works, conjugate them and gives the computing tool all its meaning in terms of high productivity. The computer graphics courses given in computer labs are the main opportunities for students to approach those subjects.
- Finally the inking-in is the last step to prepare the laid-out documents to be handed over to subcontractors such as photoengraving or cut-out workshops, service bureaux, post-press workshops,… An inking-in course goes into those details and is supported by other courses in printing or in supports and inks. Projects carried out in collaboration with companies enable students right from the second year to progressively get used to a professional environment while remaining under school guidance. The courses aim to be a reflection of the essential stages in the graphic process that every graphics designer should master in his job.
